To ensure the health and safety of all animals in our care, the following vaccinations are required prior to boarding: Dogs: Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough), and DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza). Flea/tick prevention is also required. Cats: Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Distemper). Horses: Rabies, Eastern/Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, West Nile Virus, and Tetanus. A current negative Coggins test is required. All records must be provided at check-in. We recommend consulting your veterinarian to ensure your pet is up to date before their stay.

Yes! There is always someone on site at Sundown Oaks Pet Retreat. Animals are checked many times throughout their stay. We work directly with surrounding veterinarians in the area. If your pet gets sick and it is an emergency, we will contact you first, and then the veterinarian on your profile.

Dogs: We ask that you bring your pet's regular food in pre-portioned, labeled bags — keeping them on their normal diet prevents stomach upset during their stay. You are welcome to bring personal comfort items, such as a favorite toy or a small blanket that smells like home.
Cats: Bring their food, litter and any toys or beds that they love.
Horses: Bring feed and hay. If they are staying in a stall please bring bedding as well.
